There’s a new kind of event in town, and it’s making a second splash this month. We are excited to be hosting another #DigitalWayFinder event at Spyder Trap on March 26. This time around, we’re talking about the healthcare industry digital landscape. Tickets are going fast, thanks in part to the amazing lineup of panelists who have agreed to lead the night’s conversation. The panel represents varying perspectives of innovation in healthcare from startups to Fortune 500 mainstays. Before you hear their insights on our stage, we thought it would be good to share a little bit more about where our panelists are coming from.
Kyle Rolfing, Co-Founder & Strategic Advisor – RedBrick Health
Kyle has a track record of successfully introducing disruptive innovation in the healthcare services and information technology spaces including founding Definity Health and RedBrick Health. He is currently a principal at Savvysherpa where he leads early stage innovations they bring to the market.
Over his career, Kyle has gained a deep understanding of all phases of innovation, from ideation to market introduction to sustainable growth. He has successfully built and positioned new technologies, recruited and developed world-class teams, attracted top venture capital investors, created positive cultures of innovation, driven organic growth, executed on strategic acquisitions, and created significant value for shareholders. Kyle currently serves as board member and advisor to several health care start-up organizations where he provides strategic advice leveraging his experience as a health care entrepreneur.
Kyle earned his M.B.A. from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, and is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He is a frequent speaker at national healthcare industry conferences and academic institutions.
Kunjorn Chambundabongse (KC), Vice President, Innovation and R&D – UnitedHealth Group
KC is a Vice President of Innovation, Research & Development for UnitedHealth Group, where he is responsible for managing a strategic innovation portfolio and corporate entrepreneurship program focused on disruptive innovation and growth. His organization uses repeatable processes such as Customer Development, Lean Startup and Lean VC approaches to test the validity and market opportunity of new businesses and products. In this role, KC works to increase the throughput by which UnitedHealth Group incubates and invests in game-changing new products, services and businesses, with the goal to improve the efficiency and speed at which they are de-risked in-market and positioned for growth and scale.
KC is an innovator with diverse technology and business backgrounds and has led multiple strategic initiatives since joining UnitedHealth Group in 2008. He is a graduate of UnitedHealth Group’s Executive Development Program and a winner of the Public and Senior Market Group’s Innovator of the Year Award. KC is a champion for change, for smart risk-taking and tirelessly pursuing breakthrough innovation. KC currently serves on the board of healthcare.mn, a local non-profit supporting healthcare startups, and serves on the Innovation Advisory Board for The Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota.
Prior to joining UnitedHealth Group, KC has held multiple leadership roles in upstart companies in Minneapolis and Colorado. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Steubenville, Ohio, by way of the University of Minnesota and the University of Notre Dame.
J.D. Blank, Co-Founder – TreeHouse Health
J.D. is a co-founder and the Managing Director at TreeHouse Health where he oversees operations, facilitates business development and is responsible for executing investments in TreeHouse Portfolio Companies.
J.D. has past experience sourcing, evaluating and executing investments in early stage companies. He also has experience working in corporate Government Affairs. J.D. is a graduate of Miami University with a degree in Political Science and Business Legal Studies and is currently pursuing an MBA at the Carlson School of Management.
Dr. John Hitt, Chief Medical Quality Officer – Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC)
Dr. Hitt is the Associate Medical Director and Chief Medical Quality Officer. He graduated from the University of Georgia Medical School. He completed his internal medicine and infectious disease fellowship training at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinics and a year of special geriatrics training at Hennepin County Medical Center. He is board certified in internal medicine, and has an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
Dr. Hitt’s previous work experience includes VP appointments for systems performance improvement and outcomes management at a number of healthcare organizations and hospitals throughout the nation.
