Google Analytics iPhone App

Google Analytics iPhone App

Web geeks on the go can now keep tabs on their websites through a new Google Analytics iPhone app now available at the Apple App Store. The $5.99 app developed by http://analyticsapp.com provides 29 standard reports including overview reports, visitor reports, traffic reports, content reports, event tracking reports and custom reports. I have not used the app personally (I’m a BlackBerry user), but they appear to be getting some rave revews. Some notable ones are as follow.

“Now that Google Analytics is available for the iPhone, that addiction is only going to get worse.”
“Woohoo! Now I’ll finally be able to obsessively check my traffic stats from the palm of my hand.”
“Absolutely sublime! This is a ‘must-have’ for anyone running websites with GA. I can’t believe how well it works!”

If you have used this app before or one like it please comment and let us know what you think. Love it? Hate it? I am trying to convince myself to make the switch, and applications such as the Google Analytics app is making the switch that much more tempting.

Since we are on the iPhone topic, Apple announced today the App Store has reached over 1 billion downloads in nine months. Not surprising but quite a feat to say the least. Congratuations Apple!

$6 bucks for an app makes me crabby. But I don’t know if I can resist this one! I’ve been hoping for this app for awhile (yes, really, I have).

What are you thinking about switching from, Mike?

    Hey Liz,

Thanks for the comment. As a follow up post, I was considering doing a search of all Iphone apps related to online marketing. For someone who travels a lot or is constantly on the move in our industry it might be a pretty worthwhile expenditure.

I have been a PC guy my entire life until I recently switched to my first Mac. Right now I am using a BlackBerry World Edition which I became accustomed to at my last job. I really like the functionality of the Iphone, I’m just not a huge fan of AT&T based on previous experience.

    Holy crap, sold!

I’m a huge fan of the custom reports. I can view these too? I don’t travel all that much and don’t really need this app, but some things you just can’t resist… which probably makes me a geek and I’m more than OK with it :)

    Thanks for the comment Paul!

I agree. I am one of those geeks as well who want something new cool and shinny just because they can have it. Does provide some great functionality by the sounds of it and being able to view custom reports on the road or between meetings sounds pretty great. I think if I had one, I would find myself using it more than expected.

As a current AT&T customer, I can say that the service they provide is more than adequate. There are a couple random ‘dead zones’ that exist; I have not had any other problems with AT&T’s phone service.

Currently, I have the Razr as my phone; so I am not part of the app era yet. The GA app would be very relevant to my job, and allow me to track accounts from almost anywhere. If I get an iPhone, I will want this app; maybe I can write it off at work :)

I’m a Verizon customer, and I have heard plenty of people gripe about AT&T service, but Apple and Verizon are rumored to be in talks currently with hopes to launch an iPhone with Verizon in 2010… So I’m hopeful that this goes through, becuase I’m a big fan of Verizon’s service, just not of their phone selection…or lack thereof…

Well then … we were just talking in our office on doing this for an App, but maybe we still will in a more basic version to serve our core client, or with a twist.

As a new iPhone-er, and web-aholic I will probably grab this app. I can say the iPhone/ATT email isn’t the greatest service, but the pro’s far outweigh the cons.
