How we do things at Spyder Trap

Successful digital marketing starts with having a deep understanding of both client and end user goals, frustrations and preferences. Our approach is to work closely with clients to understand project objectives and mirror that intent in everything we create.

As a digital-only marketing firm, Spyder Trap creates, strategizes and solves technical problems using a hybrid of the Waterfall and Agile processes.

Waterfall Approach

In the waterfall approach, all Spyder Trap teams work on a specific project through a phased progression of steps that lead to the deployment of a digital product. Timelines are more rigid in this approach, as teams work in tandem to hit project benchmarks along the way.

AGILE Approach

In the agile approach, a team at Spyder Trap works through iterative and incremental cycles to complete small goals on a daily, weekly or a short specified timeline to work towards the completion of a digital product. Budgets and timelines are more flexible with the number of iterations and functionality refinements that may be needed.

Our Process

After gathering valuable user intelligence and surveying the competitive landscape, we prototype a minimum viable product. The goal of this phase is to confirm whether the assumptions developed during our user intelligence gathering are, in fact, accurate.

Hands On

We are a nimble agency and work with a variety of tools, but we are well-versed in Flinto and Invision for high-fidelity prototyping and Slickplan for sitemaps. In the wireframes stage, our designers also use Axure for low-fidelity prototyping.

TESTING

After developing a solution, our Quality Assurance testing performs a crucial part of our process that ensures your final product is being delivered as requested and performs optimally at launch — for every user on modern platforms. While the product is being built, our testing experts create a detailed testing plan that includes tests that cover functionality, compatibility, and modern web standards testing.

Once the product passes through our internal team, we continue the testing phase to include client and potential user testing. Once all changes have been implemented from client user testing, our testing team completes another round of testing to ensure no additional defects were created from those changes. Prior to the launch of the product, every key project team will make one final evaluation of the product and each department is required to sign off on the product prior to launch.

Our relationship with clients doesn't end once a project is handed off. Because the digital space moves so quickly and is changing every day, we want to make sure our clients' ever-changing digital needs are taken care of. That's why after launching a project, we maintain the relationship and analyze overall results — optimizing and iterating as necessary.
